Welcome to the USC Roski Eye Institute. Every day we strive to enrich the lives of our patients through exceptional and compassionate clinical care. Consistently ranked among the top ophthalmology programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report, we offer state-of-the-art diagnostic services and innovative treatments tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

We deliver best-in-class care across the full spectrum of eye conditions, from the most common to the most complex. We offer treatments not widely available, including the management of complex retina, cornea, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, ocular oncology and uveitis.

We share a bold mission: ending vision loss and blindness. Our world-class team is extraordinary in its pursuit of transforming the lives of those who face one of humankind’s greatest fears — loss of sight.

While our mission is bold, we pursue it through every available channel. Our success depends on:

Being at the Forefront of Vision Research

Our gifted experts in vision science continue to push the edges of discovery, conducting unprecedented research that has changed the lives of people who are visually impaired. Our innovative and interdisciplinary initiatives have led to major breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of vision-related diseases and disorders. Our institute brings innovative research to our work, ensuring that new knowledge will inform and strengthen what we offer our patients.

Internationally acclaimed contributions to vision research include noninvasive imaging techniques used to diagnose glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and other retinal and optic nerve disorders. We are one of the few centers enrolling patients for stem cell-based treatments for macular degeneration.

Ensuring Our Patients Come First

Through compassion and dedication, we seek to connect with our patients on a personal level, crafting the very best solutions to the challenges our patients face. Bench scientists, front-line physicians and staff collaborate across disciplines to serve those affected by vision loss. Our physicians have been proudly practicing at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) for more than 85 years, and today, the CHLA Vision Center is staffed by our ophthalmologists, who are helping to protect, preserve and restore sight in children.

Our new USC Dry Eye Center of Excellence offers a multidisciplinary approach to treating dry eye causes and symptoms. Our team of experts provides comprehensive management of dry eye syndrome and its symptoms: irritation, redness and sensitivity to light that makes millions of Americans’ everyday lives difficult.

Creating the Leaders of Tomorrow

As a preeminent institution, we attract the best, the brightest and the fiercely dedicated. The USC Roski Eye Institute includes more than 30 full-time leading-edge clinicians who provide comprehensive and subspecialty ophthalmology care. Our clinicians are committed to providing top-flight education programs to our future ophthalmologists and supplying the world with the next generation of leaders in vision care.

We are the patients, families, clinicians, researchers, teachers, students and dedicated staff members who make up the USC Roski Eye Institute, and we will continue to explore new frontiers in preserving, protecting and restoring the gift of sight.
