Lindsey Shomer, OTD, OTR/L, CEAS, LRC, is an occupational therapist specialized in helping patients master self-management skills and improve their overall well-being. By building a deep understanding of all aspects of a person’s life — including the roles they play, their rituals, their support systems and other contextual factors — Dr. Shomer collaborates with clients to develop and implement strategies to support each person’s journey of self-efficacy.
Dr. Shomer earned her doctorate and Master of Arts degrees in occupational therapy from the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California, where she is also an associate professor of clinical occupational therapy.
Dr. Shomer also serves as the manager of the USC Occupational Therapy Faculty Practice, part of the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The practice offers outpatient occupational therapy services with a focus on mental health and chronic condition management using a Lifestyle Redesign approach. Lifestyle Redesign is an occupational therapy intervention designed to improve self-management skills in the face of chronic conditions. Dr. Shomer specializes in working with clients who experience headache disorders, chronic pain, post-concussion syndrome and sleep disorders.
When she’s not working, Dr. Shomer, born and raised in Los Angeles, enjoys long walks (ideally on the beach), taking yoga classes and planning new travel adventures.
